What ammo (manufactuer/gr.) do yall run through your SIGs? i have a SIG in .40.

For plinking and practice I use Winchester White Box or Blaser Brass. My carry ammo is 165-180gr Speer Gold Dots and I'm going to try HST's soon.

Very good ammo! I would go withy as heavy weight as possible. I would never shoot 155gr in a .40. 180gr for me for the extre penitration. I like heavier weight across the board though.

i understand what you mean about the heaver gr but how about for range ammo. you say you would "never shoot 155 out of a .40". is that just because of the stopping power ability or because it will hinder the preformance of the weapon? thanks

For range purposes? Go to Walmart and but the 100 round winchester fmj. Fairly inexpensive. For defense? I like the Ranger SXT. I carry a 220 so I use the 230 gr.
It's like the Talons...only with a new name! Hence SXT (Same eXact Thing) Also, your Sig will shoot just about anything you put through it as long as you keep it cleaned and lubed. Polish that feed ramp!

I was just talking about carry ammo. Plinking ammo is fine in any weight. I acctually test all weights just to see if it changes point of impact which usually it does not. It has been talked about a lot over the years that a light bullet excellerates wear on a gun. Being that most plinking ammo is low power stuff I don't think weight really will make a difference on how hard it is on a gun. Now with high power carry ammo the heavier the grain the lower the wear on the gun and usually a better performing bullet as well.
