I went to a local pawnshop the other day to pay on some guns that I had on lay-away, and in one of the cases was one of these babies.

It was super clean, and looked like it had been babied, so of course I added it to the list. It even came with the box!

Does anyone have an opinion on these, it's a very neat little gun

Collector values seem to be rising on the AMTs in .22magnum.

So $400 even wasn't to bad? I know it's just a .22 mag, but it was to dam cool to let someone who might not take care of it get ahold of it.

I bought a couple off AuctionArms.com because everyone told me how much of a collector market there was for these.

It took forever to get it sold.  I bought at $300 and sold it for $300 six months later.  $400 is what I would have like to sell for but no buyers at that price.

It was the 6" and it functioned well.   Do not dry fire the gun with the slide removed, it will bend the hammer strut and cause light primer hits.

ALSO there is only one manufacturer of 22 mag ammo you want to use and that is Winchester,  CCI will blow the caseheads off in many ( not necessarilly all ) circumstances.  Keep it clean and use Winchester 22 mag and you'll have lot's of fun with this one.

I had one come in for "repairs" last month which didn't need any...the lube used had hardened from 20+ years of sitting!
So hard in fact, the safety refused to move and it was reported there were misfires since new.
An overnight soaking in powerblaster, a solvent flush and relube revealed a very reliable (but loud) pistol.
Other than the fact someone crammed 10 rounds into a 9 round mag years ago, weakening the mag spring and causing the slide not to stay open on the last shot, it was fun to shoot.
I passed on the option to buy it mainly due to the cost of ammo and how loud it was.
Accuracy did not seem quite as good as a Ruger MKI or MKII in .22Lr, the Millet sights were nice and the trigger pull was excellent.
