What's a price one should expect to pay for an AMT Longslide 1911? Very good condition. Thanks. |

The last two AMT Hardballers I saw sold in the $500 range, can't recall the exact number. I would be prepared for it to give you grief.
We have a couple of the RIA Six inch guns at work and they look pretty nice. I would get one of those and maybe have it hard chromed later on. |

No idea on price but you should demand a test fire session. I had one of their 22 Auto Mags and it was a POS. Safety failed on a buddy's automag. He put a round through the tv screen. I left after I scraped out my pants. Neat looking pistol. Failing safety=no bueno. |

Rock Island Armory makes a longslide if I'm not mistaken. Pretty favorable reviews as well.

They should pay you to take it. Also have hardballer. Haven't shot it in long time. Never could get that waste of steel working right. FTF, FTE, stovepiping, etc.
Tried various mags, changed extractor, tried various lubes, without success. Problem is AMT used the same stainless formula for frame (cast) and slide. Manufacturers soon learned this causes galling. Stainless metals are now different for each. |
| I had a javalina several years ago. It actually ran just fine. I sold that one for$750 about 7 years ago. People imagine a running one in 45acp would be about$600 these days. Neat but not that neat unless you are a terminator super fan. In that case you need the laser too... |

There's one for $2650 on gunbroker. Seems a tad high to me, no? Quoted:

I have a SA V12 and a V10 and both of the have been flawless.i gave the V10 to my dad and he carries it all the time. Never could find a V16 to add to the collection for a good price. | If you are dead set on a long slide, look at either ria or an sti range master. Having owned and built several, they are pretty much would woods and fun guns. I think you will be better served with a solid 5" gun. Very little other than sight radius is gained from that extra inch. Yes they are softer shooting, but standard size doesn't kick bad. |

Quoted: Wow...this post is relevant and helpful to the topic. Quoted: Quoted: I have an early model AMT Backup .380 that runs like a top. Wow...this post is relevant and helpful to the topic. Several people pointed out that the AMT products suffered from quality control issues. I was merely pointing out that the early AMT line was well made. |

I've got four 5" 1911s, I had a hankering for a longslide. |
