| Have an opportunity to buy a new in box ARCUS Model 94 for $550. Is this a good price? Also, a new in box FM 90 Detective for $500. Is this a good price? |

I wouldn't pay more than $350 for an Arcus... even if it was NIB. All the "completed" auctions I can find show them petering out at under $300, granted, the sellers wanted more and had the reserve set somewhat higher. Unless you're crazy into collecting every last Hi-Power clone out there, I'd pass.
The Argentine Hi-Power seems to be a fair market price. I see them going for $500, but that's Internet price, you have to factor in shipping, and FFL x-fer, and it comes out to about $550 when all is said and done anyway. |
| I guess I paid too much for my FM 90 Detective. It came in the box, near new condition with two mags, one factory, one MecGar. After transfer it was $650. I had not seen too many at the time, so I jumped on it. It was $550 before shipping, tax, and transfer fee. It's a really nice one so I guess I'm not too far off. |
| hey dont pay atten to the key board commandos they dont have a clue about the arcus there great guns and will out shoot most .those guys cant stand the fact that there built like a brick shithouse and they dont come with rainbows painted on them.the 98dac is a good gun uses the same mags as a high power and feeds everything. |
| the 98dac works well with all ammo allthough it likes the heavy ammo a little better it takes bhp mags very accurate its just a heavy well made gun a double action bhp is what it is im not sure why the hate there every bite as good as a cz that i can tell you. |

Avoid the Arcus. If anything breaks, you have a door stop. I had one - a 94C. The pistol itself wasn't bad, but it doesn't share many parts with a Hi Power. I called Century to get a few parts (extractor, recoil spring, etc). Nope. They might fix it, might not, but you'll have to send it in. No parts sales. Dumped it cheap.
For $550, you need to ask where the other one is. |
