| Hey guys, I picked up an RMR from Cabelas during the sale. I've got a gen 4 19 and I'm debating on whether I should buy an ATOM or get my slide milled? Non-negotiable are the back ups in front of the optic and front serrations so I'll have close to the same money in my factory slide as I would buying the atom.. I like the idea of having a spare slide as well. Any pros and cons? |

If the price point between milling your existing slide and buying an Atom is 'close'... it's a no-brainer. Get the Atom.
You can mount the stock slide if you choose to sell it down the road. you can sell the Atom slide seperately. You can mount a variety of optics on the Atom. |

This has been my thought as well. I was just curious if anybody had any reasons that I haven't thought of not too. Milling also gets the optic lower on the slide. |
| I have heard that, but it appears that the atom has the foot posts and ledges on the front and back of the plate so that the RMR isnt moving as much. Obviously it isn't as good of a fit as the ATEi, but is it much worse? I've never delt with one in person to really see. Also, do you find that it sitting slightly higher is much of an issue? I understand the height over bore issues, however at pistol distances do you notice it much? Thank you |
