I wish to make a public confession: At 49 years of age, I freely & publically admit to being a recoil pussy!  I got to shoot a Desert Eagle .50AE last weekend & SHITFIRE!!!!  I only shot two rds & it felt like I was holding a cherry bomb cupped in my hand & someone lit the fuse!  OTOH, I can now safely remove one gun from my powerball-win list that I won't have to buy..............

| Hell, I'm only 43 and learned from loading up some 300 grainers for my Redhawk for a pig hunt. I shot 6 thru the gun to sight in (get a feel for it).....took the other 2 speed loaders on the hunt......shot twice...and the other 10 are in my desk drawer next to me. |
Don't feel bad, as the .50AE Eagle hand canon is definately not a gun for the masses. I can handle mine OK for about 40-rounds, but I'm 15 years younger, 6ft 200lbs, and into weight lifting, so I guess I have an advantage. Still I say it's more a novely ego gun, than a shooter gun. Too big and heavy. Honestly, I'd prefer a 6" .44 mag revolver or Glock 10mm to the Eagle any day. |

| I shot one once and didn't think it was too bad. Maybe they were light handloads. Because I too admit it. I don't like recoil. I far prefer shooting 9mm's and 5.56's. Although I have a .45 and .308 and 06. .45 isn't too bad. I suppose it depends on the pistol. But I too am a recoil whimp. So I'm with you. |
