What's a good (relatively inexpensive) 9mm ammo for range use? I don't want to use reloads or junk. What do you 9mm Glockers use? |

I went to the range yesterday with my G17 and some Wolf ammo. After around 30 shots, one of the rounds expanded in the barrel. It took 20 minutes of pounding with a rubber hammer and knocking the thing around to finally get the slide off. I then pulled the steel shell out of the barrel with some pliers. I wont be using that cheap $4.83 junk again. Now I have 600 rounds of this worthless ammo taking up storage. Has anybody used Brown Bear 9mm 115 grain FMJ? http://www.midwayusa.com/rewriteaproduct/153106 I'm not exactly a huge fan of steel casings now that I have tried Wolf... |

I haven't had any trouble with Wolf (yet? I also like this stuff (I think it's the same as I had). Danish 9mm www.southernohiogun.com/ammunition.html Might be a little green if you're a sissy about that kind of stuff, though. Shoots fine. |
Yesterday I stopped by a local Wally world asked the guy at the counter how many boxes he had of the 9mm value packs. The guy says well how many do you need. Well how many do you have. The guy says 10. My eyes lite up like a little kid in a candy store. I took them all. The guy was kind of a prick about it at first though. But I got my 1000 rounds for 111 dollars

I don't know the details of the Walmart ammo, but I've not had any problems with the Winchester White box stuff. Goes bang, you know? This is a handgun, right? And a Glock at that? I don't shoot surplus or Wolf, but that's not because I think that it would harm a Glock. I don't buy the off-brand bagged breakfast cereal either, but maybe I'd be just as healthy and just a little more wealthy if I did. Some guns are made for only one particular round. Isn't the case for Glocks. Will you shoot this pistol at the range exclusively? If not, then you may want to stick with a certain bullet weight across the board? IMHO |
