| I have checked packing.org and a couple of other sites. Alabama is a MAY issue state, and the situation varies from county to county. Can any of you (from Alabama, and especially Marshall County) recount your experience when you applied? I am of age, fairly mentally competant, no record, etc. Lived here since 1977. What would you guess the outcome to be? |

Two years ago I got mine in Autauga County (Prattville, just north of Montgomery), and it took me all of 15 minutes and I think $25. Filled out two forms, waited in the spare chair in the sherrif's office while the secretary ran the background check. I'd heard that other counties weren't so easy--Mongomery County you actually had to wait a couple of weeks before they'd give it to you. |

Hey! I know where Autauga County is. Back in November we printed Vol 1, Nos. 1&2 of The Autauga County Times. If you still have them keep them for twenty years and sell them on EBAY. There won't be a No.3. I guess cary permits are pretty county-specific. We have a good sheriff here. I think next week I will go down and check it out. |
