I was at my local Gun Shop yesterday.  The only 9mm ammo they had was Sellier & Bellot FMJ, at $24.99 for a box of 20.

During the usual chat while I was wrapping up my purchase, both the sales person and another customer agreed that the ammunition "drought" was going to get worse rather than better.  What do y'all think?  Are we looking at a year or more of $1+ per round prices for handgun ammo?

Never seen S&B in 20 round packages. S&B comes from the factory in 50 round boxes that contain two 25 round plastic trays. This must be the store's doing, and if so it's a complete rip off.

I’m guessing Spring of 2021, unless Biden somehow wins

If you'd just wear your mask, it will only be

Until ammo is plentiful and low priced.

Saw Black Hills .380 also in factory boxes of 20, for hardball.

My thoughts are supply catches up by next year and will see improved ammo availability.  The variables are material cost increases and a Biden win.  Just a guess.

Seen plenty of S&B in 25 round boxes, packed in grey and red with logo, and green & silver with photo of ammo on front.

At the price you mentioned it’s time to get into the reloading hobby, if you can get components. I’m current reloading FMJ for 14 cents a round, and LRN for 8 cents a round.

I really don’t know, but f Biden wins it could get much worse.  I have enough rifle and 9mm to last about 1 year with my normal range trips every 2 weeks, so I’m more than hoping it’s back to normal iby spring 2020.  At current prices one range day would be unaffordable even if it was available.

A year or more. Regardless who wins the election.
If covid remains the same or gets worse in combination with Biden winning it could be years.

Sorry but if you need ammo you should just buy what you need at current prices.

Late 2021, early 22' if Trump wins and there are no "mass shootings"

OP/PS,

You did nothing wrong.  New guys welcome.  Its simply a repetitive question with a lot of variables.  $1+ a round is robbery for FMJ.

Legit question, but it's not appropriate for a tech forum. And it's answered.
