| Within the next week, I am going to buy either an XD .45 or a SA GI 1911. I am strongly leaning toward the 1911, but am wondering if they will feed JHP's right out of the box. Since my wife and I just had our first baby, I don't have the funds for to have smithing work done on the gun. Any and all advice is greately appreciated. |
| In my experience with MY 1911 (Kimber Warrior), I'd load FMJ or something like Federals EPFMJ rounds for home defense/optimal reliability purposes. I've shot a decent amount of both of those rounds without a hitch. I have had some Fail to Feeds with the JHP, like Winchester Ranger. Not all the time, but enough that JHP wouldn't be my choice for optimal reliability. |
