I have a glock 23.  I am currently using winchester white box for practice.  I was wandering about wolf ammo.  Many people that I know use it in AR's Ak's and some in varrious handguns.  I use wolf in my shottie often.  I have often heard that the steel casing is bad on the chamber and the extractior with glocks.  Is this true.  I have heard time and time again that wolf ammo is dirty.  I clean my gun every time I go shooting unless I am going to be shooting several days in a row.  So should I try wolf in my glock or should I just stick with white box?

My only reason for not using Wolf in .40cal is that it is very low recoil and is bad practice if your intention is to use a heavier-recoiling load (a normal pressure load) for defense.  Throws your double tap timing off.

I like the Speer Gold Dot 180gr sold in the 250 round packs marked "Not for LE use".  It is considered practice ammunition, but I've had no problems with it and it makes good defensive ammunition if you need it in a pinch.  I can usually find the packs for about $40 ($8/50rnds).  Winchester white box 165gr or 180gr is also good practice ammunition (about $11/50rnds at Walmart) but not a good for self defense.

I can get the Wolf for $4-6/50rnds, so I was rather disappointed when it had such low recoil, would've made great practice ammunition.

I want to switch to 9mm because the Glock 17 is more reliable than the Glock 22 and it's cheaper to shoot (box of ammunition is about 2/3 price of .40), which means more practice.  I just don't have the money/means right now.
