nothing special you would get the same result with any decent pistol in good working order as long as the ammo stayed dry.

Love how he ducks down to avoid being saved by the neighbors.

Also, don't you think if you did put on thru the garbage can you would start losing water.

"Try that with a 1911."

Don't have too.

Julian Hatcher did it for me.

In the 1930s.

Go internet.

The most important test was totally ignored in this movie.

The greatest danger in firing a gun underwater is having water in the barrel. Water in the barrel would act as an obstruction, weighing several times the weight of the bullet.  And "letting all the bubbles out" as he did, did NOT clear the barrel of air! The barrel was full of air for the first round; subsequent rounds left gas in the barrel, consisting of byproducts of firing the gun.

Now, if he were underwater, shooting upwards, and letting the barrel fill with water with EACH SHOT, THEN I would be convinced.

Sorry, but your wrong and the guy in the video is right.  This has been done so many times I'm amazed you're even presenting an argument that's been blown away so many times and for so long.  For God's sakes man, why do you think Glock makes maritime spring cups if shooting the gun underwater is not possible?

Kind of neat.  I guess without the martime firing pin cups you could get light or no strikes due to the pin not being able to displace the water and thus slowing down the pin?

Glocks are nice guns.  I've always liked mine.

guns and ammo tv just did a underwater shoot with a SA1911. 8 rounds completely submerged shot and cycled fine. after effects were a slightly bulged barrell but nothing more.

They did an insane test with the XD and one part was shooting it underwater with 0 malfunctions. Not a big deal.

Quoted from a Glock site:
Maritime/Marine Spring Cups enable your Glock

to shoot underwater and under hostile environmental

conditions. They ensure that even with water and or

debris inside your Glocks firing pin channel your Glock

pistol will fire!

The cups protect the FIRING PIN CHANNEL, not the barrel, which I was referring to.
