Took my 9mm Shield to the range yesterday and put 100 flawless rounds through her.
Hit the center perfectly every dam shot! Target was in the 15 - 20 yard range. I'm really impressed with this little gun! |

Quoted: Quoted: Yes, I would love to hear more feedback on the .40 version as well. Saw one at a local shop last weekend for 389. Kid behind the counter said they had had it for a week and nobody has even touched it. ![]() I like my 9mm, so I'm not interested in the .40. Ok, where are you so I can come get it? |

The 40 is as good as the 9. Recoil is not as bad as you would think, and it is very accurate. I don't like 40 but I wouldn't mind owning this one. I've got a question. I saw a Shield 9mm that was on display. But I have not seen a Shield 40, are they any bigger or wider? And how many rounds do the 9's and 40's hold? Thanks for any info. |

Same size in every way. 6 round flush mag, 7 round extended for the 40. 7 and 8 for the 9mm. |

All the shops around here just don't have em and say they can't get em... Same problem here! I had to call over 20 stores here in the valley before finding mine. Had to pay 30 dollars above the going price, but I didnt want to sit on a waiting list. IMHO the Shield is well worth a wait though. |

Waiting on my local Academy to get them in as well..................going for a 9mm

I just picked up the shield 9mm at academy sports for $399. they said that they received two 9mm's and one 40 S&W i bought the last 9mm. I do have to say i like the way it fits in my hand. i own the keltec pf9 and i like the grip on the shield much better. |

I finally got to shoot mine the other day, put 100 rounds of WWB through it at an indoor range.
Not as much recoil as I expected, considering how small and light it is. Also, I didn't notice any difference in feel or accuracy using either the flush magazine, or the extended magazine. It does shoot a little to the left, I hadn't noticed before but the rear sight is just a little off center. I'll have to loosen the set screw and adjust it next time I shoot it. I was able to keep all shots in the 9 ring on a silhouette target, firing as fast as I could get the front sight back on target. When I slowed down and really concentrated I could almost get all shots touching, at 7 yards. I'm going to put a box or two of Winchester Ranger hollow points through it, and if function is still good that will be my carry ammo. |

Lack of availability is why I'm picking up a PPS tomorrow, if it's still in the case at the shop.
S&W thought of almost everything on the release of the Shield, immediate stock at dealers, holster makers in the know out of the gate, but they forgot to make enough of them. Oh well, the PPS is a proven, quality pistol, so I'm not put out about it. |

I can understand their being cautious in this economy on the release of a new model, but sub compacts are selling like hot cakes these days. You would think their marketing guys would have taken note of that. Ruger did the same with the SR 1911. Yeah, but they have shipped more Shields with only being released two months ago then Ruger has with over a year with the SR1911. |

Took da 9mm Shield to the range last week. Put over 300 rounds down range with no issues at all.
This little carry gun is most defiantly a shooter. Really accurate out 20 yards. I'm impressed just how well this little gun performs! Love it! Still looking for some extra mags though.. |
