I don't have Hobbs's gunsmithing skills but have have managed to do the following to my FN HP. Removed the mag disconnect. Replaced the trigger return spring with an x-power Wolff replacement. Replaced the recoil spring with a 18.5# Wolff spring. Bobbed the factory hammer. And I also replaced the grips  That should do it for now. At some point I will send it to somebody who knows what they are doing for a real trigger job, replace the safety and some nice sights. if I win the lottery I'll send it out for some full on custom work like checkering, flattened and serrated slide, tighten up the slide etc.. |

Also in the middle of a High Power project. Going all out on it. I have navidrex Micarta Grips fitted, I've bobbed and shaved the hammer, Tritium 1911(yup) Novaks are on order. I also have a Cylinder and Slide safety fitted to a nice "click" up and down and I ditched the factory sear for a tool steel Cylinder and Slide unit. Everything has been either blasted and cleaned and is awaiting the sights and a full Dura Coat on top of a fresh park. Damned if I can find leather for it. Gonna have to order some from Galco. |
