| I've installed the Apex FSS Trigger kit and RAM into my M&P9. It works great, although the RAM could have a little more "feel" to the reset. My question is, with the trigger being at about 3.5lbs now could you hypothetically switch out the lighter springs and sear with the springs and sear that come with the DCAEK? Also I had an extra spring that came with the FSS. I called asked Apex what it went to making sure I didn't forget to put something in. Apex told me that it was a lighter spring for the RAM. Second questions is, could I use both springs on the ram to increase the "feel" of the reset? |

i spoke to someone at apex today and was told the extra spring was for if you had the smaller hole/plunger set up in your sear block (which i do I ordered another sear block today with the bigger hole so i can use the upgraded plunger and spring. today at the range the gun had a few failures to reset with the little wimpy stock plunger and spring. i may call him back tomorrow and talk to him more about the two springs that were included with the plunger, i could throw your questions by him as well if ya like. edit: after watching their install vid again i don't believe the other parts will work because they've changed the engagement timing so drastically for the fss kit. apex install video he goes over it a bit in the end beginning around 1:15 |

and from what i see on the video.... i don't know if you watched it...but he explains the parts a bit as he takes them out.
he says that the trigger is 50% of the whole kit and it has it's own integral overtravel and take up stops for the trigger bar to rest on. this works in conjunction with the fss sear. which is a different shape than the other sear they offer if i'm not mistaken. you would have to use these two together. i'd guess you may be able to switch out the trigger spring for a heavier pull if that's what you wanted or possibly switch that plunger spring in the sear block if they offer a stiffer one. |
