My gunsmith just put one in my M&P pro and it has little to no over travel is that normal its kinda freaky and my gunsmith doesn't like it either. I will be putting a RAM and a comp spring kit in it in a few weeks. Is the trigger supposed to be like this or should i wait to shoot it till i get the spring kit to help prevent any potential issues.

It mimics a 1911 style trigger so that is normal.

Yeah it says on their site and on item descriptions it is really meant for competition use. They say almost every person that has handled one has had their first shot go off sooner than expected. If you are not comfortable with such a responsive trigger I would suggest installing something like the dcaek or caek kit. Be safe.

It feels fine and it is in my M&P pro for 3gun/uspsa just have never had a trigger that nice, Just wanted to make sure that it was normal it breaks slightly before the trigger stops, Its freaky but i like it after doing some draw and dry fire practice

That's exactly what the Forward Set Sear does. If you wanted overtravel, you should have got the hard sear.

I am coming from the army to civilian shooting so nice firearms in my hands is a new thing... not having shitty triggers is a bit of a culture shock, however i am slowly getting used to it. like i said before just wanted to make sure it was normal

I've had my 9lL (along with the 45FS and 40 pro)  for several years and installed the APEX trigger right after I got them so I'm used to it.  I like shooting my 1911's also and was wondering what do I need to do to put the FSS in?  Will I have to remove what I have and reinstall the FSS?

Yes. The FSS kit uses it's own sear, springs, striker block and trigger. You'll have to remove/replace all the parts you've got in there now.

First off sorry for the thread jack but it is on the same area of discussion:

I just installed the APEX  RAM and Duty Enhancement Kit in my 9mm 5" Pro, I did leave the factory trigger spring in to achieve the lower 4-4.5lb trigger weight.

Loved the RAM.

The DCAEK...not so much I went from a crisp 5.5lbish pull to a creep filled sloppy 4lb pull.  It feels like I am shooting my old XD, put with a better reset.

The trigger spring has no effect on creep so please don't tell me that is why it is doing this.

Has anyone else had this experience??

Did I need to polish something?

Is this normal?

I am an experienced shooter and would take a good 6lb trigger over  a shit 4lb trigger anyday. Light doesn't mean good.
If this is normal I am putting my factory sear back in and will just run the RAM.

There is a lot of overtravel in the DCAEK, but once it gets through that my FS M&P9's trigger breaks with almost no creep.

The take up doesn't bother me.  It's the creep when at the end of the take up.
