Last night I installed a Arredondo +5 on one of my Glock 21 magazines and could only fit four extra in the magazine for a total of 17 rounds. I was hoping for 18 rounds total (13 + 5). Any ideas?

Pull the base and make sure that the insert retainer legs are on the outside of the spring.

Also, get a loader device since the first few loadings has to press/form the insert legs wide open against the inside of the mag to allow the last few bottom stack rounds to get inside of the legs (read I still use a loader on my Para mags for this same reason,  and even after a year of use, the last two rounds are a bitch).

Thank you for the reply. Found no problems with the spring. I have unloaded and reloaded this magazine about 12 times with a loader. It still only holds 17 rounds.

Sorry about that, had a brain fart (yes, the place reeks of CLP).

The extender only gives you 4 extra round in the 45 cal.  I was thinking that you have a 40, and it would give you 5 rounds (6 in 9mm).
