| I have two different gun belts, one is 1.5 in. the other is 1.75 in, that i swap between depending on what pants im wearing. Im about to order a new holster and was palnning to get it with 1.75 belt loops to work on both belts. My question is, when on my smaller belt, how much play will i have between the holster and belt ( obviously .25 in)? In other words, will this loose fitting cause the holster to slide and wiggle around on my belt? Would i be better off getting a holster for each belt size? Any and all advice is welcome and much appreciated. I realize this may be a stupid question but im fairly new to whole holster and gun belt world. Thanks again. |

I recently got an Ares Ranger belt as a delayed Christmas present. While it's a 1.5 inch belt, my old style 1.5 inch Comp-Tac CTAC clips were just the tinyist bit too small to clip al the way around. (This doesn't seem to be a problem with their newer clips) In my initial attempt to trouble shoot the problem, I replaced them with 1.75" clips. Found exactly the problems you're worrying about - holster migrated around the belt, and came up from the waistband when I drew.
If I knew then what I know now, I'd just replace my clips with the newer 1.5" version. However, not realizing that the problem went away with newer clips, I replaced them with the Velcro v-clips, had a shoe repair place sew a chunk of Velcro on he inside of the ranger belt, and also put Velcro on my blackhawk leather (well, fake leather) belt I use for dress occasions. The v clips work very well. So, if you're using two different size belts, maybe something like the v clip would be a good option. http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=78 (It's worth noting that both Jake at Ares and the customer service folk at Comp-Tac were very responsive and helpful throughout all this) Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
