My beretta 92fs' slide fails to lock back after the last round in any of my 5 magazinesis fired. Do I need to replace the recoil spring? I do not know how many rounds have been through it, but it has been at least 1000

1. Try manually pulling the slide back on an empty magazine, and seeing if it stays locked once you have it held all the way back, and let the slide go fwd.

2. If not, take a look at what's going on with the slide stop lever inside the chamber, the magazine follower should be raising it enough to lock the slide back.

Weak mag springs possibly, are they old mags? Could you be riding the slide stop, I know I have a tendency to do that on sigs, and if i remember correctly beretta's slide stops are located a little more to the rear?

I think that you are right. I believe I have been riding the stop, as I am experimenting with a new kind of grip that I also use on my 1911. I know the mags are not the problem, so I will try going back to my old grip to see if the problem is fixed. Thanks!
