My brother wants a Bersa. I told him to hold off on it until I do some research. Do you guys have any first-hand experience with them? Thanks guys. |

i've got a bersa thunder .380. i like it alot. totally reliable, not 1 single jam in several hundred rounds. pretty accurate too, but i dont shoot for shot groups. damn fine pistola for the money. i think i paid around 219 out the door for my two tone. only thing is that it only comes with 1 mag and factory aftermarket mags are pricey and i havent had good luck with pro-mags. theres a forum dedicated to them here http://bersatalk.com/default.aspx |

Yep.. I've owned a Bersa Thunder 9/Ultra Compact for about two years.. It is an excellent pistol. The BT9/UC, Fullsize, and 40cal. were designed around the excellent Walther P88. My BT9/UC is 100% reliable, and VERY accurate. I really like the 13+1 capacity, and the only complaint I've ever heard about Bersa/Firestorm firearms is the price of additional mags.. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a73/Laserlips/100_4897.jpg Picture shown is my BT9/UC w/CAT Laser.. The CAT Laser is also mfg. in Argentina for Bersa/Firestorm is is excellent, but adds bulk to the pistol and takes it out of the cc area more into the home defense/vehicle type pistol. I also have the 22cal Firestrorm FS22 and it too is excellent. All B/F pistols come with a lifetime warranty to the original owner. I have nothing but good things to say about my B/F pistols, and you can monitor www.Bersatalk.com and get other's opinions. It seems Bersa does a crappy public relations job in the U.S., but most of the folks who actually own and shoot them love them.. The pistols imo are a great value, and ARE quality products. Hope this helps. J. Pomeroy |

I have had a Bersa .380 Thunder for half a year. I have fired 400 rounds through the weapon, including my own handloads. It has been more reliable than anything I have ever owned, and as reliable as my old G23. i handload for it - I have gotten accuracy so tight that I didn't think it was possible for a semi-auto. Bersa is AWESOME! |
| While decent quality pistols, I don't see any reason to buy one. No mags, no parts, no holsters, no resale value. Tell your brother to buy a nice low mileage Beretta, Sig, Browning, Glock etc. New Beretta M9's are going for $430 these days. If he buys the Bersa, he'll have a really difficult time selling it when he inevitably wants something else. |

My Bersa Thunder 45 the trigger spring broke after less than 100 rounds. It was fixed easily but I sold it. I didn't trust the reliability since I never had a gun fail so fast but it shot pretty well when it worked. Anyone need a spare spring. I think I may still have it. Get a CZ instead |
