I think the finest mags out there are the Tripp Cobra mags. Another one I like are the Mec gar mags, you can get really nice aluminum base plates you can coat the same color as the gun. But those and wilsons and Cmc mags are all really good mags for the 1911.

I have never used any Tripp mags so I can't say about them but for aftermarket mags, I prefer Wilson 47D and 500C 8 round mags and also CMC Match 8rd mags.
I meant to add that I have 2 Springfields, 2 Colts, and 1 Kimber. The above mags work flawlessly in all 5 pistols. |
