| I prefer the S&W, but Ruger also makes a nice line, very over built. |

Back in the dark ages, I got my first S&W when I turned 18 and graduated High School on the same day as a present from my parents. I've owned many since then along with a few Rugers and Colts. I've carried all 3 brands at different times. Probably more S&W's than the other 2 combined. Beach |

I love S&W revolvers. Smith and Colt both make great wheelguns, it's all in what you become accustomed to. I like my cylinder latches to open when you push *forward*, I like the cylinder to rotate from right to left, and I like the side plate on the right. The old 5 screw Smiths are the smoothest actions I have ever felt. I like the old recessed cylinders, and the pinned barrels too. |
| No place to vote for Clerke or RG...so I pick S&W. I shot a new model 28, 4 in. that was in storage many years. Using Samson 125s, I had a few one holers and a few cloverleafs...this one outshoots me! Like Hannah says, "pinned and recessed". I agree the *forward* cylinder release is natural, not back, Colt, down, Dan Wesson or in, Ruger. |

There I voted for Colt. My royal blue 6" Python is my first revolver and my first "love". I have a S&W model 10 also that I shoot alot. It is our duty weapon at work which is why I bought one. Can't look bad when I'm instructing. |

I like my Smiths and really want to get another Python. Ruger is my favorite SA. In terms of accuracy my 8" Dan Wesson take first place. I often go to the rifle range and shoot beer cans placed on the 100M berm, shooting off hand I have about a 60% hit rate. When people watch this they almost always want to try it. From a bench the hit rate is about 98%. Fredom Arms makes the highesy quality single action in the world but their price is right up there with the quality. |
Yup, I also think Ruger make one hell of a tough double action. Smith is probably my favorite though |

Love my S&Ws and my Rugers! S&W is like a Cadillac of revolvers - classy and good looking; great actions On the other hand Rugers are like Harleys - rougher and stronger. I've been thrown from a horse and landed on my ruger - only damage was a scrape to the rubber grip. But if I have to vote for one it would be S&W. |
