Is there any difference in the bore axis between the hight end 1911's. I mean like Brown, Wilson, Baer and Nighthawk.
I was just curious, the only one I've ever owned was a Wilson but I've heard other people say that they thought the Brown sits lower in your hand.

Yes, there is a difference. The difference is in the grip safety.  The Ed brown grip safety has a higher cut, which requires you to remove a bit more metal from the underside of the tang. As a consequence, your hand is a little higher on the frame, which bring the gun's bore axis a little lower.

All 1911 frames start out the same, and the Wilson grip safety fits the generic frame cut/tang pretty closely.  But the Ed Brown design sits higher and you have to modify the tang more.
