Hi Guys I have a question. I have a Browning Buckmark Generation 1 handgun. My dad who gave it to me purchased it in 88 I think. Well anyway I have a problem, I took it shooting a month ago and I was having a lot of misfires. Probably three every magazine. The gun is clean but I am also using Federal 22LR value pack rounds. These rounds are maybe 8 or 9 years old. I also was examining the bullets and was wondering if its normal to wiggle the bullet left and right while holding on to the casing. I dont have much experience with 22lr. I know my 9mm and 7.62x39 ammunition does not do this but what about 22LR. Thanks in advance for the help

I have a Buckmark 5.5 Bull barrel. Probably about the same gen as yours. I have never had any problems with it.

I would try all the little things first. Magazines, ammo.

Can be few things wrong. Could have weak firing pin spring or even dirty inside the firing pin housing. How does the strikes look on the casings? Try different ammo first, then we can get deeper into it if needed.

I had the recoil buffer fall apart on my really old Buckmark causing small chunks to get into the frame.
A piece in the wrong place could cause misfires...easy enough to check for.
There should be a little square black piece of buffer where the rear of the recoil spring nests by the rear of the frame.
