What website is the best in buying used handguns and with the most variety?
|

no such place AFAIK. another one of those "best" questions where it would be nice if the world worked that way, but it atin happening, yet.
your "best" bet is to use as many places as possible since youre looking for "used". that "best" includes your local shops and gun shows. ive found good deals on used guns on the web and in local shops. knowing whats what and what youre looking for/at makde a dif too. also, having an idea on prices at that time when you have taht used guns in your hands can make a dif. waiting till you get home or ask here or the next day you have access to the web is too late some times. |
| All the shops where I live have a 5lb bucket of vasaline just inside the door. I've tried to do business with the locals, but they are just too pricey and don't seem to want to budge off their prices. I've bought from Summit, gunbroker, and twice from the EE here with great results. Local shops want $50 or more for a transfer so I found an individual that does it for $20. |

"All the shops where I live have a 5lb bucket of vasaline just inside the door." Let me guess, stop inside the door, drop your drawers and sit in the bucket. Then you go to the counter, bend over and prepare to receive incoming. That sounds like many of the storefront gunshops I see around here as well. |
| I've found some very good deals from Buds Gun Shop and they have free shipping on most of their firearms. |

To be honest, some of the best prices I've got on used stuff has been at local gun shops. Maybe I'm cheap, but I buy more affordable stuff, and for me, most things under $500 bought online aren't worth it, by the time the shipping and transfer fee is included, and there are some stores in my state, that will charge sales tax on incoming stuff, even though they have no authority, in my opinion, to do that.
The firearms that I have bought online, have been generally described as LNIB; any less condition, and you are taking a chance, because you are taking the seller's word on the condition. The problem with buying like new guns online is, that you are going to wait a long time for what you want, at the price point you want. The advantage to buying used locally, is that you can look for things wrong with the weapon. It will get very expensive, if you have to send something back, because it didn't meet your expectations. BTW, www.gunsinternational.com and the Cabela's "gun library" are other places online you can shop. |

http://www.riverofguns.com is a nifty search engine that searches the for sale boards on several different gun forums. |
