For holsters, I use a kydex Comp-tac CTAC and a leather Milt Sparks Versa Max 2. For used guns, check the Equipment Exchange. |
Tucker Gunleather's The Answer Comp-Tac C.T.A.C. ![]() |
Can you show a pic from above looking down into this holster? |
Sorry, I don't have one. I just copied the pic from their website. If I may guess your question, the leather is flat, and the kydex has the shape of the gun. I really wish he made them for wheelguns. When I do end up getting an M&P9c, it will go in one of those. |

went down to the localshop they didnt carry any of these holsters so i will have to head up asearch of other local shops to see... and was looking at smith and wesson j frames kind of liking the small wheel guns as a A backup or B summer carry thanks for the info?suggestions guys |
You really need to come and shoot mine (M&Pc 9mm). ;) JER's CTAC conceals nicely. I had a Galco Royal Guard inside the pant holster. (Got it off EE here for ~$45) Nice, concealable, full size PT1911 handle hides under my dad's medium-sized gut. I have a Galco Summer Comfort on order for the M&Pc/USPc I'm thinking about ordering one of these too: Cross Breed Holsters |
I wouldn't waste my money on any holsters I could buy in a gunshop. For a quality holster, you'll have to order by phone or over the net. Personally, I have found the ctac to be uncomfortable, yet concealable, however I seem to be in the minority. I like leather, Milt Sparks, Brommeland, Garrity, Alessi, HBE are all popular and only a little more expensive than the mass produced stuff like Galco, depending on the options you get... |
The Tucker ?Kyther or Leathdex? looks very interesting. How does speed of draw compare to a 100% Kydex scabbard and a 100% leather scabbard? |
Don't know. Can't imagine that it would be much slower than all Kydex. All I have seen are pics, but it looks interesting enough that I will order one for the compact semi-auto I am thinking of buying. M&P9c or 2075 RAMI....... |
Well, holsters are like shoes, even in the same size, what is comfy for someone will be a torture rack for someone else. The only time I find my CTAC mildly irritating is if I spend several hours in the car. Every now and then I have to squirm and move the holster. I imagine leather would be the same, since good leather is not floppy and there is still a metal object with protrusions inside the holster. |
Exactly, that's why I always try to remember to throw in that disclaimer that I seem to be in the minority in finding the Ctacs uncomfortable... |
If you buy a used Kimber Ultra, make sure it has the internal extractor. I've got the Ultra CDP, Ultra Carry and the Compact CDP. They are excelent guns. |
