I just got my slide for my Kimber Ten II back from CCR Refinishing yesterday finished in KG Industries GunKote. I also had him do all the small parts black. Now, before you go judging the color choice, I know most of you have customized your pistols with aesthetic upgrades, and that is all i did. I dont expect any of you to really care for what i did, but all you need to know is that i am extremely happy with it. Hey, exotic wood grips might not be my thing, but i know they make a lot of users happy, and that's all that matters. The finish came out perfect, and i am much more pleased with the color than i thought i would be. I was afraid it would look "cheesy", but i think it came out looking more classy. And in low-light situations, it actaully shows up a lot less than a stainless gun. As soon as i get my camera back, i will get completed pics of her :)

I think it looks nice. What is the actual name of that color? I would seriously consider having that done to one of my guns.

Yeah yeah yeah, its cool, i can take it! I knew i'd get some shit for doing it, but it did come out looking really good. The color (as far as i know) is just Gold, KGI GunKote. But in person it isnt offensive like real gold plate or anything. it is satin too, so that helps dumb it down a little. Please make no correlation between my screen name and my new gun... they have nothing to do with each other, and really nothing to do with me (the screen name is a stupid old inside joke, and the gun, well, like i said, i got it refinished mainly for protection from oxidation...why gold? I dunno) |
