Current carry is Colt Defender.
I started to look at some of the "plastic" guns for a CCW handgun.
What would you recommend given the following?
1.  .45 ACP
2.  Full size grip
3.  Primary carry position is on the belt (inside or outside)
4.  If possibly would like the ability to carry at ankle.

I have been looking at H&K USP 45 Compact and SIG 220 Carry.
Recently say but have no information about the Springfield XD 45 line.

with a full size grip, not sure about the ankle carry unless you wear bell bottoms?

I know they are not full size grip, but the closest I can think of is Glock 30 or 36.  I have the 36 and love it.

I have a USPc 45.  Great weapon.  Wonderful for concealed carry.  Works well in a VMll.  Too big for ankle carry, IMHO.  Look at commander size 1911's as well for inside the waist band.  Good luck.

OOps.  I see you already have a defender.

I would personally do with a S&W Model 60.  But to meet your parameters, a Kahr P45 would be my choice.

There is nothing not to like about the XD45 Compact.  Look into that.

my vote goes toward the m&p or XD in .45

go to the store and dry fire each and make YOUR decision

I plan to handle any that I consider.  I am just gathering candidates.
