I'm going to class to get my CCW in a month or two, and have one question.... What do you do on buildings that bans guns? (non-schools) Not shop there or go in. If you go in and get caught, then what happens? Thanks Bri |

for those restricted places/"non-gun" zones, some choose to con't to carry, taking into consideration the circumstances, location, "what the place is"--for example: some will cont to carry in a no weapons area in a mall, but not neccearrily at thier kid's school, and the 'risk of being caught and its consequences vs the chance of actually needing the firearm... basically, its your choice if you want to break the rules; but if you get caught, dont expect any sympathy check your local, state's laws pertaining to the penalties for breaking the rules--it varies from state to state; it can range from fines and revocation of your CCW to jail time |

I carry everywhere I'm legally allowed to. And perhaps more than that. In my state there is no signage that can make it unlawful to enter any structure while unarmed. A place is either a carry zone or a forbidden zone at the sole discretion of the legislature. You can be asked to leave if your weapon is spotted. |
"WHAT!! YOU WANT TO SEE MY COLOSOMY BAG?!!! YOU SOME KINDA SICKO?" |

Make sure you take a good ccw class....they should cover the regulations in MN. When choosing to carry eaven if there is a sign banning guns a authorized person has to tell you to leave the premisse. Only at that point it gets tricky. If you leave thats it. If you choose to stay they can call the cops. Now the cops will tell you to leave and again if you leave your o.k....if you stay its a ticket. You can escalte this all the way if you want....I would just make sure nobody sees my gun. I'd rather be tried by 12 then carried by six. Stefan |
+1 Piss on those jerks! I won't give them my money. Answering your question: in the state of Texas, you increase the penalty liability when you carry in a place with the 3006 law or 51% sign is posted. If memory serves correctly, you could be charged with criminal tresspassing. In a nutshell, don't carry in a school, hospital, bar, post office, bank, or court house. |
If you get caught, DO NOT walk directly to YOUR vehicle. Walk down the parking lot or road, around the block or whatever. This way they can't/won't get your tag number. Nor can they detain you. Not to mention, it's not smart to detain an armed man. ![]() Just make sure you have a GOOD method of concealment. I've caught myself a few time standing in line at the local post office & realizing I left my gun on rather than in the Jeep. Thankfully, no one ever noticed. Ditto on the boycotting of the anti businesses. |
I wore mine into the metro court house yesterday. We dont have metal detectors in these parts. |

Unless carrying a gun is prohibitted by law, I ignore those signs. The worst they can do, if and only if they discover you're carrying, is ask you to leave, and if and only if you refuse, then charge you with tresspass. It's way too much trouble for them. However, if you're CCW is visible, then you're opening the door for a lot worse problems. While boycotting would be an ideal form of expressing my disapproval for the store's policy, the inconvenience I would endure to shop elsewhere would often outweigh the imact of my effects of boycotting the business. If my aim were to protest a store's policy, speaking directly with or writing the owner/manager/CEO would be more effective before simply not shopping there. |
