| Just curious if anyone carries without having a permit? I'm in one of those states that doesn't believe in the constitution and makes it impossible to get the permit. I'm a business owner that for what ever reason isn't able to get a CCW permit. I'm currently CCW regardless of the laws. if any ex employee's decide they want to do something stupid to me or my family, it's not going to be me or my family. just want some thought's!! |

You're risking quite a bit. Might be worth hiring a lawyer to push the permit process.
In Texas, we may have created an interesting situation - we allow handgun carry in the vehicle, and you can do as you like on private property. As long as you don't walk on public property w/ it, you might be able to CC in Texas w/out a permit. I don't. I am not a lawyer - I'm just an anonymous poster on the internet. Take it for what it's worth. Gig 'em, backbencher |

Nobody here is going to advocate that (since it's against the code of conduct to advocate breaking the law). But it's something you have to decide for yourself. Look at the potential punishments for your area and calculate the risk-reward for yourself. If you live in a very safe area and the punishment is 15 years in prison, it's probably not worth it. If you travel through rough areas and it's a misdemeanor, well, that might be worth it to you.
While it's bullshit, going about getting a permit the legal way is always the best option. |

I did in Alaska(it's legal) before I got my permit. Funny thing is I got banned from the California forum for asking the same thing. Hope that doesn't happen to you. |

Many years ago OH had a "prudent man" law which basically said that if in the totality of the circumstances a prudent man would be armed it was an affirmative defense against a charge of carrying a firearm.
Such common sense approaches may or may not exist in that state now or any other. With the knowledge that you will be accountable for your decisions probably should consider unintended consequences..and the fact you don't always get cheese with your baloney sandwich anymore in most jails/prisons. |

This isn't the place to ask that question. For sure if an LE in your area or an LE that knows some one in your area reads that, they now know of a crime that is being committed .... just saying. Having said that, There are many many people who carry concealed and have no problem, now if you had to use it, you may be a charge for unlawful carry, but if you used it in a manner consistent with self defense, oh well. Besides do you think Gang Bangers, Outlaw MC's and other people of less then honorable intentions obtain permits. I would though make sure that you follow all traffic laws. Have no mechanical issues on your vehicles. Learn to concealed said weapon very well, making sure it doesn't paint under a shirt of when you bend down (Ask the Erik guy in Las Vegas what that can cause). And understand the right LE if they have reason to talk to you may let you walk without a permit if your record is clean and the circumstances are right (most used to say if you weren't a bad guy no big deal ... especially if you were active or former military at least in my experience) But the wrong LE, or one that isn't happy with what you were doing or where doing it or not happy with his Donut (joke) will arrest you. Good Luck |
| I live in the Peoples Republic of Crook County State of Illinois, we can't get a permit. I feel very good about this, because I know that everyone in the state follows the law and would not think of carrying without a permit. I know I would never, ever, ever, carry without a permit. |
| I live in CA and its a misdemeanor if your are caught with a gun your first time, but lucky for me the sheriff was getting alot of shit for giving ccw permits to ranchers and supporters, so last year he said anyone that can buy a handgun will get a permit for self defense. it also helped when they are laying off law enforcement every where and letting out criminals. it still took me about 6 months because of the amount of permits. |

I would not admit to it on the internet. And Maryland is one of the most anti-CCW states in the country. Do whatever you can to avoid a situation where you'd need your gun in the first place; your freedom is on the line! Well said, that is why I would never consider carrying with out a permit. |
