I had an Mk40 and had to let it go. For some reason the magazine would drop free with on round remaining in the magazine. I actually loved the gun but couldn't reconcile this flaw. I now want the cw 45 and have read good things about it. Do you guys have any experience with this model?

I just purchased a CW45 today. After I got it home I put 25 rounds through it in the back yard just to perform a quick function test. With the exception of one 1911, I am completely standardized on Glock pistols. All I can say is I should have done this a long time ago!! I find the CW45 to fit nicely in the hand and the recoil is very manageable. I was expecting significantly more recoil being a reduced weight and size .45, but must say it felt like I was shooting a Glock 19.
The fit and finish is very well done. There is just enough grip checkering which allows for a very positive hand hold and seemingly no slippage. If I remember the numbers correctly, the slide is narrower than the Glock 19. The grip being single stack feels and looks very flat. I believe this pistol will carry very nicely. The trigger is very smooth and breaks cleanly and should be easy to get accustomed to. The same trigger pull every time is one reason I've gravitated toward Glock. I never was able to get good with the SA/DA triggers on many of the personal defense pistols on the market. I will spend the next few range trips breaking the pistol in at the advice of the Kahr manual. Sometime at the end of the summer when I've had time to really test it with different types of personal defense ammo I will put night sites on it and then it will be ready for every day carry. Good luck with your purchase decision. |
