Just picked up my CZ82 from Bud's. I have some problems.
While I was looking it over I noticed that the hammer doesn't actually rest against the rear of the slide. With the hammer down there is about a 2mm gap between the surface of the hammer and the exposed end of the firing pin. I figured this may be some kind of a trigger safety, so I dry fired it a few times while observing the hammer and.... *TINK, TINK, TINK* on the floor. Huh? I look down and there's this oddly shaped piece of black metal on the floor. The hammer on the CZ turned into a decocker. Literally. If I cocked the hammer and then pulled the trigger in SA, it would function EXACTLY like the decocker on a P01/CZ75BD model. You'd hear a "click" and the hammer would cam backwards a little bit, and then it would slowly fall as I released the trigger. Pulling the trigger in double action would simply move the hammer back and forth in concert with the trigger. I identified the puked-up part as the trigger bar disconnector. I have no idea how it fell out, but it did. I removed the RH grip and put it back in place. I noticed that even though there is a hole in the part, and a corresponding hole in the frame, there is no roll pin to keep it in place. As of right now the only thing holding it in place is the right hand grip. The trigger/hammer are back to their regular function again, although the hammer still has that gap before it hits the firing pin. So how the heck did this piece fall out, why is there no pin securing it, and how do I keep it from happening again? ETA: Well I just did the ol' pencil-down-the-barrel trick to see if the firing pin was actually making contact... Sweet Jesus that thing launched. So that answers that question, but I'm still baffled about the disconnector. ETA2: Aaaaaaand it just fell out again. |
| Im not sure what that is. Perhaps create a video and post a link to show us? Whatever it is, dont have a gunsmith do it if you can help it. I had a broken trigger spring and diagnosed it myself and fixed it for under $10 in parts from CZUSA...They even talked me through how to fix it. Some gunsmiths will charge you more than the damn gun is worth. If all goes to shitter, and you have to spend money, dont spend more than $50. On gunsamerica you can buy the entire frame of the pistol less the slide spring and grips for under $75 |

Thanks for the reply. While I was looking this thing over and comparing it to a parts diagram, it hit me...
I am COMPLETELY MISSING part number 25 in this diagram, the Trigger Bar Disconnector Rivet. That's why the Trigger bar disconnector (#24) is just falling out. Nothing to hold it in place.
It's GONE. According to the CZ USA website they have it in stock for $3. Now, as to your advice about doing the work myself... how exactly would I go about installing this myself? Is it within the realm of things that a guy with a normal set of hand tools could do? This is what it looks like:
http://shop.cz-usa.com/P-0330098001/Trigger-Bar-Disconnector-Rivet-83.aspx Thanks for the tip about the frame too. If this proves to be too costly an expenditure, simply buying a new frame and stripping the old one for spares may be the better choice. |

^^ This link is the one I used in order to take mine apart to replace the trigger spring, which was also a $2 part. I would buy the part fro CZ, but also go ahead and pick up a spare of what you are buying. Also, I would practice taking apart the CZ82 before ordering. –– It would suck to order the part, disassemble the 82, and find out you were missing or had broken another piece, mostly because the most costly expense in this matter is shipping. |
