| I have settled on 9mm, budget allows new CZ75, or a used S&W 5906..but I could hold out and move up to a Beretta..These are the handguns that seem to fit my large hands...My first hand gun...any advice? |

My last handgun purchase was a CZ75BD. I think it was money well spent. I don't have any serious complaints, just a couple minor nitpicks. The trigger reach is awful long. The decocking lever could stand to be dehorned a little bit. Some folks complain about the grips but I think they are comfortable and perfectly functional. Fancy wood grip stocks would look kind of funny with that black enamel finish, besides. It didn't like my lead 147 grain reloads at all. It fed them OK but was all over the taret. It was much more accurate with the S&B 115 grain FMJ. I had a couple FTF's with it when breaking it in. It's still new, I haven't had more than about 200 rounds through it. |

I've own a SIG-228 & 226, and both were good guns... But, with my CZ-75b I've gotten the best groups... I believe it's because of what Skid2964 mentioned - Low bore center... Because of the lower recoil(muzzle flip), I've been able to reacquire center target quicker... When speed (competition) shooting, I was able to hold my own with the best of them... I'm thinking of buying a CZ-P01...
