It's a toss up... I've heard good things about both. Anyone have input?

i have absolutely nothing to say about the taurus.  and that is not because i didn't like it but because i have never held one.  and i can't even be sure i have ever seen one.

however i do own a cz75 compact decocker.  they are the most comfortable pistols.  the trigger gets much smoother after a few hundred rounds of break-in.  the down side is that there is not a lot around in terms of accessories for them.  the soft rubber grips are much better than the hard plastic ones.  the standard model can be carried cocked/locked or hammer at half cock.  the slide mounts to the inside of the frame.  this seems to produce a lower profile but can be difficult to rack the slide for people with poor hand strength.

i say buy the cz you will love it.

CZ.  I've shot both and I prefer the CZ hands down.

The 24/7 I shot had an AGONIZINGLY long trigger pull. Not heavy, just loooooong. I could not get used to it at all.

That having been said, CZ's fit my hands like gloves. I had the chance to buy a Beretta or a CZ for the same price, and chose the CZ. I like it alot.

I "held" a 24/7 once and the ergonomics seemed decent.  "A decent pointer" you might say.  But it felt too light in weight for my tastes.  I'm a SIG man and prefer a heavy steel slide for better balance.

CZ-75 P01 I shot was awful.  Great gun in reliability, but after you shoot THE 9mm everything else is under par.

Try to get some range time with each gun before making a decision.

In what way did you think the P01 was awful?

Not even a comparison in my opinion.  The Taurus is a fine firearm but compared to a CZ, it is below them in quality, reliability, and value.  Go with a CZ and you will be more than satisfied.  As for the P-01, I've shot 3 and each one had the same gritty trigger.  Everything else was superb, but the blasted triggers were some of the worst I've ever felt.

The CZ, and about the trigger it will smooth out nicely after a lot of shooting. I have heard a lot of things said about the the CZ75 PO1, but never "awful!?" Do your research and you will find that CZs are held in high regard by many, many shooters, myself included. Good luck.

I love my RAMI. I had a P01 in the past, great gun, but it is no longer with me. I would like to get another one some day. The RAMI, despite its size, shoots just as good for me.
