I am new to the CZ and stumbled on to a CZ 82 and have not ever fired or seen a 9x18 fired.
I have searched and got zip. Felt real good in my hand. Are these guns prone to hammer bite like a 1911? What kind of accuracy could be expected from one of these at 15/20yds? Recoil compared to a 9x19 Glock19? Reliable? I would guess to be as they are supposed to be ex-police guns? Thanks for your info! |

Are these guns prone to hammer bite like a 1911? No but they're a blowback gun so it's kind of snappy but not bad. What kind of accuracy could be expected from one of these at 15/20yds? Has a fixed barrel and polygonal rifling. Very accurate. Recoil compared to a 9x19 Glock19? It's a little less than a Walther PPK. Reliable? I would guess to be as they are supposed to be ex-police guns? Mine is so far. For under $200 it's a great gun. I'm thinking of buying a blade tech holster for mine. BTW I own, Glocks, Colts, Beretta, H&Ks, Walthers.... I know what good guns are. |

IReliable? I would guess to be as they are supposed to be ex-police guns? Not ex-police, the CZ82 replaced the CZ52 in the Czechosolvakian Army. Since then the CZ82 has been replaced in both the Czech Republic and Sloviak Republic by the CZ75. The Czechosolvakian Police used the CZ50/70 series. It was and is a reliable pistol with ball ammo. As far as Hollow point ammo you will have to try it in the pistol in question. The large trigger guard is for a gloved hand during winter firing. CD |

Quoted: Thanks guys. Fishngrits, those grips look real nice, how hard were those to come by? Not hard at all. Go here: http://www.marschalgrips.com Did you refinish the weapon? Very nice. No. That's the finish I received it with. Any ammo your guns prefer? I shoot Barnaul FMJ, mostly. Looks like Wolf or one of the Bears, is the only difference between the Silver Bear and Brown Bear the case? |

My CZ82 has been 100% reliable. Only about 150 rounds through it thus far though (that i've shot). Since I have owned mine (I got it C&R) it has only had 95 gr Hornady XTP handloads through it. Starline brass, 3.6 grains of AA#2, Winchester small primer. I've meant to buy some factory combloc ammo but never have got around to it since it's so easy to load for.

Same Exp. Got Mine C&R. Liked it so much, that for <200, quickly bought a second. Thinking about 3rd.
Run Silver Bear through it. Just wish I could get Rubber grips for one of them. Economical, reliable, rugged. No hammer bite. Best shooting 9Mak of the 5 I have. Just a hair above my Bulgy Mak. Way beyond the FEG and Polish. |
| love mine also, I had to refinish one for a really poor finish. lots of holster wear. Internals where like new. 2nd one I got was much better finish. Both shoot great. I am no pistol shooter. With wolf military clasic or barnul<sp?.. I can keep in 10" cirle at 15 yards. Thats good for me. Only thing I wish was a slight longer mag relase button. I may buy some extra plastic grips and grind down some for a littl easier access. For me the mag release is the only crappy thing. One of my guns is very rough and gritty. The other does not work all the good from the right side. For the $$ name something that can beat it! |
