I just purchased a NIB CZ P-01 and I pulled it out of the wrap that it came in and started to dry fire it. I didn't do a detail cleaning or anything like that before I started dry firing it.

My question is; when I pulled the trigger, either from hammer down or trigger cocked, if I rode (sp?) the trigger forward after depressing it, it would not re-set. If I let the trigger go and didn't ride it forward then it would re-set on it's own.

Is this normal for a CZ to do this or do I need to do a thourough cleaning before I suspect any problems????

They are typically packed in VERY thick oil/grease for storage/shipping. I would highly suggest a good clean and lube, then see what happens.
