I'm looking for a good carry belt for my Supertuck. What belt do you use and recommend? I am particularly interested in experience from those who have used their belts every day for several years but impressions on new purchases are welcome as well!
Thanks in advance! |
| I have a belt from The Beltman. I have been wearing it for three years, minus deployment time. I use a Comp-Tac Minotaur for my XD45, and a IWB or OWB from High Noon Holsters for my Walther PPS. VERY satisfied with the fit/finish/quality of the belt. I just noticed that it is starting to show some wear, which is not bad after three years of wear, IMO. |

My favorite carry belt is my 1 1/2 " Comp Tac Kydex Reinforced Contour Belt.
It's the belt I've been using along with my horsehide Crossbreed Super Tuck for the last three years; the combination is the best I have come across for carrying a large frame handgun comfortably every day, all day long. It offers excellent stability due to it's stiffness and the contour makes it very comfortable to wear for hours on end. |

The Wilderness belt is great and I have one of those too but I end up wearing the CompTac all the time since it is so comfortable.. |
| I'm wearing an Aker B21 right now. With the two layer leather and the kydex insert it is quite stiff and supportive. I have two: one in brown and one in black. One of my buddies has one in basket weave that is about 5 years old and it is still rockin' along just fine. I'm a big fan. |

Any thoughts on the Pitbull Tactical CCW belt (here)?
Thanks J |

Those look great, but he's yanked em from the market for now to redesign so they don't so closely resemble a competitors product. How many different designs are possible with this sort of product anyhow?
Anyhow... I have two Beltman belts... one black and one brown. I love em. They hold a 5" 1911 from dragging my shorts down and they don't scream "Shoot me first because I'm carrying" to those that keep an eye on the small details such as "tactical" style belts. I'm pondering a nylon/kydex belt though... I have range days were the tactical belt would be a better choice than leather. |

the only belt to get is the wilderness instructor belt. This. I have a Bison Designs reinforced belt that I bought from Cabelas. I've been using it for almost a year now and I like it a lot but I think the Wilderness would be better quality. These belts are extremely comfortable for carry. As an added bonus, it offers more adjustment then a standard belt that has predefined holes. |

Thanks, it sounds like this belt: http://www.galls.com/google/style.html?assort=general_catalog&cat=&style=LP224 I'm about to order one though most of my days I pocket carry so I will get some covert pants as well. Not sure if the stiffer belt will help with pocket carry but it can't hurt. |

| I wear a custom made belt from Kary Welch which is webbing material like the wilderness belt, but with a cobra buckle in place of their ring/loop system. it allows me to unbuckle my belt without having to undo it through the loops which makes daily business much easier, as well as prolonging the life of the velcro. |

I got a 1.5" gunbelt from Tucker Gunleather. Several other good options have been offered so far in this thread.
The Tucker belt is still working great about 4 years later. It satisifes the gunbelt requirements of being 1) stiff and 2) thickly built. At the same time, I have been thinking of getting something else, just to have another option. Being built on a traditional pattern, the Tucker belt's tension is not continually-adustable; you must buckle it at one of the holes. That can be problematic, for example, if you gain/lose some weight, want to wear extra layers, or want to carry a slightly smaller or larger gun IWB. But, it does blend in well, as it looks much like any other belt. |

I just received a new wilderness tactical easy fit belt with the polymer insert. The easy fits are nice and i don't mind the extra velcro on the sides, and I wear the tongue and reload (behind the hip) on my weak side.
Oh yes, also. I'm 6'2" 280, so I'm a tad on the robust side... Yeah, that's a good word, robust. Overbuilt for... um... strength... haha. |

I just ordered one of today. Buckle seems much more convenient than the velcro loop system on the wilderness, and I've read great things about the workmanship. |

Quoted: Galco Contour for years..now on year 2 of The Beltman[w/stiffener]. I like stiff, heavy duty dress gun belts as I want my firearm to always be where I put it. I'm wearing the Crossbreed belt, and have been for about 6 months. It's thick, very rigid, and reasonably priced as far as leather gunbelts go. |

I've been wearing Specter Gear double thick nylon belts for over a year or so when I'm wearing tacticool pants. So far they are very sturdy and I like them a lot. Recently, I picked up two different leather belts for use with jeans or dress pants/khakis. I bought a Looper's belt with kydex reinforcement and a Wild Bill's Concealment belt. I've been wearing them for about a month now and like them both quite a bit. They do a really good job of holding my holsters tight to the body.
