I'm planning on ordering a fitted slide and frame from Caspian this week or next, before I did I wanted to check to make sure this was the best place to get it and anything to look out for.  This is the first time I've done a ground up build, aside from having them do all the frame/slide work.

Feel free to throw in any opinions or suggestions.

Thanks

I've built two pistols up using Caspian Frames. Have them install the Plunger tube and ejector. They do it for next to nothing. I had them cut the frames for ramped barrels as well. I use Essex enhanced slides because I feel they can't be beat for the money, as they have all the desirable features already done. I lapped these to the frames myself.

I had no problems with both the frames I used, one was a stainless recon frame and the other a stainless commander frame. They are very friendly and professional folks to deal with and I highly reccommend them!

You can shop from the Caspian sub-company, Foster and save some money.

Even if they fit the slide/frame, you may still need to do some fitting after you install the barrel.  Just FYI.

If you go Caspian, they offer an integral plunger tube.  I like that.  Never comes loose as it's part of the frame.

I've never had a problem with Caspian/Foster parts.

Just finished a build with a Caspian frame and a USGI WWII slide. Came out great.
