Caspian frames are very good.  Investment cast by Ruger's Pinetree foundry, the finish machining is done by Caspian.  Don't let the forged frame fanboys lead you wrong.  A good cast frame is fine, and many fine pistols have been built on Caspian frames.

As far as the magwell goes, some Caspian frames are made with an integral flared mag well.  I have one, and it works well.  They also provide  a standard frame, too.  So you can have it either way.

The only place that a cast frame won't compare to a forged frame is cosmetics.  If you want a wonderful blue finish, you are better off with a forged frame.  If looks are second place, then buy the Caspian.   Chances are, it will look just fine anyway.  My SS Caspian frame certainly looks just fine.

Flaring of the magwell, not all manuf do that.  Caspian may do it for additional cost. If your adding a S&A magazine well you will have to blend the frame anyway to get the job to look right.
