New frontstrap treatment from Caspian. Not bad for 85 bucks.

I wonder how it actually feels, how it grips, and how it stays in your hand when they get sweaty.

I like the looks, not as abrasive as checkering and much easier to keep clean. Need to actually get a feel of it to know If I would like it or not.

That's exactly what I thought too. I think that I would like it, but I would like to try it out first.

Wish I had known about that before I ordered my receiver

although, for $85 I can get A LOT of skateboard tape that does the same thing and maybe better

They're also doing MSH's, cocking serrations, and the tops of slides.

Holy feces, that's awesome.  Having just finished another 20 lpi checkering job, I'm dreading the next one.

It would be less likely to get damaged like checkering.

Really?  You all like it?  I think it looks like crap personally, but then again I don't really like the look of anything other than the typical front strap checkering.  Guess I'm just old school like that.

It looks a damn sight better than scalloping IMO.

FWIW, all my guns are checkered too.

I too like traditional checkering..more than anything else.

However, I do like that better than the scalloping/fish scale look or the golfball dimpling.

I like the "neat" look with the border.

I think it looks ok, but I'd really like to know how it works.

It kind of reminds me of the WWII "pressed checkering" you saw on wartime production guns.

Kinda neat. I like it.

Looks kinda like the pattern that Miller Custom was offering.

His was a lot tighter. I saw a couple examples the last time I was at his shop. It's really cool looking and grabs your hand really well without feeling sharp.

The diamonds on this rendition don't look sharp, so I kind of wonder how well it would grab your hand.

Stan Chen does something similar IIRC. I like it.

I like checkering myself, or stippling, if you can find someone that still does the stippling. It kinda has a random effect and feels about like skateboard tape, whis is what I use. But I am cheap as hell.

I thought of the same thing, like the checkering on the arched mainspring hopsuings of earlier 1911A1s.
