Hi guys
I have never had a gun cerakoted before but I know it is real popular. I am thinking of having the frame on one of my Sigs cerakoted. There is a local company that does it. The guy who does the work told me that they strip the frame down and remove the anodizing before cerakoting. Does that sound correct? As I understand it most companies leave the anodizing on aluminum frames because it gives it strength and the removal process can soften/weaken them. Or is that incorrect? The rest of the gun I plan to send back to the factory for restoration and action enhancement. I'll have to call Sig to verify that it does not void the factory warranty. |
