Charles Daly 1911 .45 ACP Extractor Issues

I have a new Charles Daly .45 ACP 1911 whose extractor does not hold a round as it should in the slide. Actually does not touch the side.

I have no FTF or FTE issues, but I want it to be within spec.

How much force can I apply to the extractor? I’ve pressed & pressed very hard, but very little movement.

Is there a point beyond which I should not go? I don’t want to break it.

TIA

Roy

If it is working I'd leave it alone. Otherwise check the FAQ at the top of the Forum.

SBG, the FAQ refers to a "diagram below", but there is none.

I get the infrequent FTF (2 out of 50 rounds - 185 gr. LSWC). It's not a problem, but the extractor should apply pressure and that should end the problem.

Thanks

Sorry SGB.

Yes. The last sentence says to "see the sketch below." There isn't one. Unless he's talking about the one above. I don't know.

I've decided to leave it alone. It works fine except for the once in a while feed jam.

Thanks

Roy
