| I was talking to some of the guys at the range last week after the club meeting and they said that they like the charter arms a lot. I havent had a lot of hands on with these so i just listened and figured i would ask. What are the good and the bad of these revolvers? |
|
Based on my experience, The Good:
1. Reliable 2. Lightweight 3. Broad range of available calibers (.22, 327, 38, 357, 44, etc.) 4. Multiple configurations 5. Fairly inexpensive. 6. CA has a very good reputation for customer service. The bad: 1. Resale value sucks. 2. Trigger pull is heavy. 3. Revolver is dimensionally smaller than a J-frame, and can be a bear if you have large hands. |

I just looked at one at my local gun shop that was used and you are right about the resale. They only want 225.00 for it and its a 38. I might just have to go back and pick it up. If i went to sell it and the retail was to low then i guess i would just have to keep it. |
| My CCW is a Bulldog Pug .44 special and I dont leave home without it. Its not pretty, but the cylinder locks tight and it is dead on at 15 yards. I use Corbon 180gr along with the Blazer 200 gr "flying ashtray". I will never carry a snub in .38 again. You cant argue with a .44... |

Has anyone had experience with the new pitbull? It is a .40 S&W that wors without moon clips. It seems like a great partner to math to my M&P 40 and 40c. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile I looked all over the SAR/X-roads show. (2nd largest gunshow in the country) and didn't see a single example. I don't think they really exist yet outside of a few copies sent to gun rags. |

I'm intrigued, but I'm concerned about long term durability. |

J-frame is a better fit. I carry my Bulldog in a Nevada Leather J-frame holster. Any 3" j-frmae will fit. Size wise it's closer to a Colt Detective special than anything else. |
