| Thoughts? Anyone own one? Do you love it or hate it? |

I've owned three .44 Bulldogs and none were any good. Super heavy and gritty trigger pulls in each. The only way I could get pull weight to anything near acceptable was by installing a spring kit. Trouble was, ignition reliability went into the toilet. I also had one, a Bulldog Pug, lose its barrel shroud. IMO buy a used, Ruger or pre-lock S&W for comparable money. |
So what you're saying is...they are slightly slow, kind hearted and love their momma? Or...that they like to run, leaning towards liking to run. |
| Over the years, I had two of the 2" .38spl "Undercover" models that I carried often as either a main CCW or a BUG. I liked them both. Not as nicely finished as a Smith or a Colt, but very servicable. Finding holsters were not a problem as they fit everything made for a Smith "J" frame. I have a buddy who has a .44 spl PUG that the barrel shroud came loose on. But other than that he has had no problems with it. |

The Charter 2000 undercover has a transfer bar safety ,solid one piece frame and one piece barrel. I think they went out of bussiness in about 2005,thier SS ,2 inch barrel with rubber grips went for 325.00! I think that one could pick up a good used S&W or Colt for that price, pretty much put them out of the gun market! I just bought one for 200.00 OTD. I like them for just what they are(good,cheap,wheel-gun). Bob |
I spoke with their customer service sometime this year, so I don't believe that they are out of business. |
