| Anyone have one? What are your thoughts on them? |
| It looks like a pistol version of the AR-7 rifle, though I could be mistaken on that. I had an AR-7. I liked that it was light and broke down small enough to fit into a daypack, but it jammed way too much for my taste. Sold it and haven't missed it. How much of this is relevant to the explorer II, I don't know. I wouldn't buy one unless there was something about it that was very compelling, particularly when there are so many great 22 pistols out there. |

Well its kind of compelling because they havent made them in over 20 years, they look unique and im getting one for just over 100$. Im mainly just buying for collectiong purposes on this one,but i was wondering how they shot,iv read good things & bad....so i guess its up in the air. I have other .22 pistols,so im not that concerned if its a jam-o-matic...but it would be nice if its not! |

I have one of the Explorer II with the gold finish. It is quite ugly and I had no regrets having someone remove the "broomhandle" style grip and put a homemade wooden handle on it. (I think I paid $35 for the pistol) At some point I'll spray paint over the gold if I can't find an inexpensive way of removing it.
Like my armalite ar-7 rifle it can be finicky with magazines but once you find one that works you are good to go. |
