Well, I ahve decided to go with STI for my first new 1911. However, I can't decide between the Ranger II or the Guardian. This will be an everyday CCW. The guardian seems to be the better size for conceal, but the 3.9" size also seems to be odd and could be hard to find parts for.

I'd go with the Ranger myself.  I don't have a problem with a full sized 1911 but the Commander-sized models are a little easier to carry all day for me.

The officer length grip makes for a more comfortable and easier to conceal carry pistol, but it all depends on your build, hand size, typical carry style and attire, etc. as to what works best for you.

IMO a comfortable carry gun is a better carry gun.  I do like the Guardian's longer slide and barrel length versus the traditional officer's 1911.  I'm liking the VIP actually but I have larger size hands so the extra grip size is no problem.

The VIP is awesome.  Very light weight.  However, single stacks are WAY more comfortable than doubles for me.  I can shoot anything, but the DS mag gets combersome.  It's the square width.  I carry basically a VIP with a commander slide and tactical rail frame.  Carry it everyday.  It will conceal under a T-shirt but sitting in the truck with it is not great.  I put up with it.  Standing, walking it's great.

Well, I have decided if i go STI I am getting the Ranger II. However, I keep looking at the SA Loaded lightweight champion as well. In my area i am looking at $850.00 the champion out the door and 1120.00 for the STI ranger II out the door. Would the STI be worth the almost 300.00 more?!

The STI would be worth the extra to me.
