Tell me more about this gun, any of you 1911 guys...
It is all original, has 2 barrels, one marked "Colt" One of the grips seems to be a plastic replacement, the other is wooden. There is a small H near the hammer.
It says "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY" on the right side of the slide
It says "PATENTED APR 20 1897 . SEPT 9 1902
DEC 19 1905 FEB 14 1911 AUG 19 1913"

"COLT'S PT F A MFG CO
HARTFORD CT USA"

On the frame it says "UNITED STATES PROPERTY"
Serial 274XXX

What are we talking about ballpark value here

The year of Manufactor is 1918 by Colt for the slide and frame. Some of the parts are 1911A1 USGI. (grips, mainspring, grip safty, sights?,trigger) It looks like it might be an arsenal rebuild for the Army for WW2. I dont see any letters stamped on the frame from an arsenal though. Not sure on the value. Nice pistol Hope this helps.
