Can u give me a little info on this gun?  I am looking for a Carry gun, hunting sidearm, home defense, just a general gun to do it all right now.  The gun  has a 3 1/2 barrel not to sure but is not fullsize.  Is this gun a solid design?

It's my dad's gun and he picked it up for 100.00 dollars.  I don't know how he finds deals like that.  He doesn't really like it all that much and he really wants a Ruger so I'm thinking about making him an offer.

The Commander has a 4 3/4 inch slide and full grip frame. The Officers acp has a 3 1/2 Bbl and shortend grip frame.

My OACP in .45 runs great, however I have no experience with one in 9mm. $100 was a STEAL !!!

Any chance you can post pics?

I'll sure try to get some pics.  May take a couple of days but I'm sure he'll let me go get it, I'll let you know.  Yep, it's the 3 1/2 barrel, hopefully I can get more info on it.  My real concern is will it have cycle problems b/c of the shorter slide.  The gun having to do the same work in less time.  I don't know if that's true in this case.  Don't know if that makes sense but I thought I've heard of those type of concerns with shorter 1911 models.

Yes, some short barrelled 1911s do in fact have cycle problems. Even the better brands have had them in the past & some continue to do so.

Seems like you could easily get your money back on resale should this be one of the problem guns & you don't want to fix it?

Since the gun is a 9mm are parts as available as the fullsize 45's, and are prices for parts about the same?

For the most part, yes, the parts will be priced about the same as the .45acp versions. Mags may be a bit higher though, IMO.
