I've done some searching despite my newness to the board and have followed instructions on there for the problem to no avail. The problem is that my Colt Defender has been throwing multitudes of brass back into face (hard hitting and rather distracting, usually about 50-60 out of 100). Believe it or not, this is actually an improvement compared to what it was before. The Extractor has been tuned and the ejector is about to come next as I am out of ideas.
Any more ideas that could help me out would be fantastic.
Thanks
BEM
(This was also posted in 1911 Discussion but I figured Colt specific people might be able to help me out more)

That's one reason they lower and flare the ejection port on the enhanced models, to help prevent hot brass from thumping you in the noodle.

Change your grip a bit and try to limit recoil more and see if that changes the spent brass trajectory.

And don't hold it sideways.

I'm not holding it sideways....despite how all the cool people hold it haha
I've changed the ejector in case cause it was shaved by someone else. I'll work on the grip and lets see what happens with the next range trip.
Thanks for the help and I'll keep updating as it comes along. Should be able to make a range trip this week. Hopefully all is well as my noodle is tired of being thumped to bleeding all the time.

Went to the range today. New ejector has my defender running perfectly now...ejection path for the brass is high right rather than straight back. hooray!
