These are U.S. magazines for the M1911 and M1911A1 and were likely procured sometime in the '70s-early '80s.
The '8Rxxx' is a non-manufacturer cage code. I have some 8R320 magazines that are linked to SARCO. My guess on this is the mags were ordered by SARCO who sold them to the government under the non-manufacturer code. Or, the government never accepted them and SARCO sold them off. I would expect a similar situation with your 8R611s. Typically tend to be good, working 7-round mags, but because it is questionable that they ever were issued by the U.S., value is not high. With the non-manufacturer codes, there is no way to find out who really made them or even if they were made in the USA. |
